Searching for new farm tourism businesses with activities and great food or wine

I’ve recently had an enquiry from a New York food and wine magazine searching for some new agritourism products in Australia. They are looking for accommodation properties on farms that have some great activities for people to do while they are there and if there were some great food and wine on offer that would be a bonus too. Please add your suggestions to this blog so we can help them out.

If you were to vote for the best agritourism food and wine area in Australia what would it be??

I look forward to your suggestions! Cheers Pauline

  1. Anyone coming to Australia from the US would miss out on the most rewarding destination for food and wine by not visiting the Hunter Valley wineries and Port Stephens, for the freshest seafood.
Its only 2-3 hours drive from Sydney on any of the Tour coaches and you can do it by railway to Newcastle in 2 hours.
Tailor Made Barramundi Fish Farms, our Cookabarra Restaurant and our neighbours, Kookaburra Cottages, offer a great base to see how the region produces its products.

That’s a great suggestion Graeme, thanks! One doesn’t immediately think of fish farms when we think farms but they too are farms and the perfect spot for fish lovers to get some fresh fish! I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t stand fish that has been frozen and it gets harder and harder for city folk to find good fresh fish! So sounds like a great place to head for good food and looks like your farmer neighbours have some great accommodation and activity options.

Thanks again for the suggestion, let’s hope we send some visitors your way, regards Pauline
