Rostrata the verandahGet back to nature
Rostrata truly allows you to escape the trappings of the city and hectic lives with the natural features of the district: wild flowers, wild life, beautiful sunsets, and at night time enjoy star gazing.

The farm

The dry land farm runs 2000 Merino Ewes joined to Dorset’s for Prime Lambs. Lambs are mainly spring dropped. Crops grown are wheat, barley and oats for hay. Cereal crops are grown for both Grain and export hay, for the dairy industry and the Japanese market.

There are also 250 acres of irrigation on which we grow lucerne for both the dairy industry and our own stock.. This is 25 kms away.

Farm Tours are by arrangement. See the sheep dogs working. Hold a lamb or handle a sheep. Hand feed the lorikeets, pat the ponies, see the Dove and “Arthur” the peacock. Gather the eggs. At the end of the day relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Sit back and study the wonderful galaxies at night.
